Two posts in the space of two days, madness. I've added 10 or so new life studies which were done last year. My work kindly enrolled the animators and artists on a course at the local college, great experience. Really enjoyed painting on some of the longer studies and when the course finished I think I had around 40 pieces to sort through. I had only done life drawing with a pencil before and found charcoal a tough gig, much prefered the paint brush! :)

Added a whole load more links on the right to various inspirations. I've been collecting these at work for ages and felt the need to share.

I am alive and I've finally uploaded a reel of my work on Viking. Some of this work dates way back to 2007 and I like to think I've come on a bit skill wise since then. This made the process quite painful as everytime I went to start selecting shots I wanted to make improvements, but I decided if I carried on like that I'd never get it out so I've mixed together what I consider some of my better shots.( even if some still make me cringe!)

I've also got some work from my time on Empire:Total War to sort out. As well as some other animation bits and some more life studies. When I'll ever get a chance to cut these all together for a reel I never know, but I'm getting there......

My new reel and Viking work is getting there, it feels a little wrong at the minute with no new content, so hopefully I'll have it done soon.

In the mean time although my intention is not to turn this into a fully fledged blog I do feel the need to share any stuff that I think is worth sharing around. A new addition has entered my links of artists Lou Romano after I found a post of some of his 'Incredibles' artwork, very nice. Also a nice little link to some BIG HD quicktimes of the opening and closing sequences of Kung Fu Panda, enjoy.

Ok...so I've been slightly lackluster with my updates. But here it is, my new site. The reason behind the lack of change for about, hmmmm......nearly two years, woops. Is basically because the old design drove me mental, along with being incredibly busy with work and life in general. Excuses, excuses i hear you cry, but i admit the old site design was put together way to quickly, making it incredibly difficult to alter. I've been sitting with this ready for ages now, basically just waiting to cut together my new reel and Viking work. But I've decided to just get it up and running and get the two videos done as quick as I can.
There are still a few issues between how it runs in IE or Firefox. For some reason IE seems to interpret something incorrect and shifts my right heading off to the right more so than usual, even though all widths are set. Coming across annoying little things like this are difficult when your not so great with HTML anyway. Also for some reason my info javascript windows' crash when you try to move them in Firefox, just need to reload the page to get it all working again. Can't seem to win in either browser. Maybe Google Chrome:D

Hopefully a nice fresh start will get things moving again. Though i do wonder who exactly I'm talking to when I write this....

It's been an extremely busy time for me since I was lucky enough to land a job at the CA(we're on nick name terms now :). I haven't had an internet connection since i moved flat to be closer to the job and I don't think I've ever felt so cut off from the world, thats sad isn't it. But hey, no worries, I'm back in the 21st century thanks to the good people at Orange Broadband and I'll hopefully be able to keep this site up to date from now on!

Finally I'd like to wish all the poor souls who reach this site a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!! Lets hope its a good one!!

28/10/06 - Well after what I guess you could call and very 'long summer' of trying to get a job.......i finally got one!! The nice people of Creative Assembly (www.creative-assembly.co.uk) have given me a chance to prove myself in the games industry with a position as junior animator at their company. It came as a very nice suprise to even get an interview, let alone be offered a job!! I am very grateful to them for giving me the opportunity to be part of their team and extremely excited about starting. I begin my journey tomorrow(ohhh cheesy line) and lets hope it all goes smoothly :)

In the mean time, after my walk cycle post on cg char has kinda died now, I've updated the link in the animation section to the most recent version from the helpful critiques i did recieve for it.
